So i've decided to start doing an artist of the month theme....
WELL , WELL, WELL...i've chosen Miss. Solange this month, because she has really made a name for herself. She's not "Beyonce's lil sis" anymore! I bought her album over thanksgiving break, i know i was a few months late on getting the album, but my friend recommended i purchase the album. Once i heard the first track i fell in love. Solange brings an edgy/soulful side of the music with hits like 'I decided', 'tony', and 'sandcastle dicso'...her edge is more of the 60's think diana ross and the supremes but with some sassyness you hear me! the gyrl can blow and who knew she had that much talent, not to mention her style which is SICK!!! i love her fits...she doesn't care what anyone thinks and what they have to say, she's living her life to the fullest and i dont blame her. make sure you check solange videos out on youtube, google her up, or her myspace. I believe she'll be in concert with big sis this summer, i'll be there supporting her! This is definitely one artist to look out for cuz the sista is bringing it this yr...u betta work gyrl! :)

ReplyDeleteLuv both Ms. Arie and Solange. Solange is a definite and welcome departure from Beyonce'. Very refreshing sound and she does have a great look! As for India, well, what can I say, except she makes me want to stop using relaxer on my hair and truly be a proud Black Queen (if I could get a comb through it!:) LOL Perlouez
